Sooooo....

Well... So apparently it has been more than two weeks since my last post, where i stated i would update the blog every week... Can easily say I am contradicting myself a bit.. To my defence it feels like it has only been a week since my last post.

So all excuses aside, what happened this week (weeks)? First of all I have started surfing, which is very very fun!! We have also been doing some slacklining, tanning, partying, eating, drinking and some studying in between the activities mentioned above.
I am also glad to say my sunburned skin is gone, replaced with skin somewhat more to my liking and color preference. Oh i almost forgot! We have also visited a favella (slum), invited by Urban Drums, a group of people intended on keeping kids of the street and away from drugs alcohol, by offering them activities such as drumming. I am really glad i went, considering it was probably the first time i really felt like i was on the other side of the world, and not just on a warm tourist-filled beach! The kids swarmed us as we arrived, giving us high-fives and huge smiles. Very heart-warming!
We have also been in a Brazilian kitchen, where we learned to make some Brazilian dishes and desserts. Nom Nom Nom!
Aside from this everything has actually been very relaxing and slow-paced (in a fast-paced way:-S ). Yesterday we had the vorspiel in our apartment, and the placed looked trashed this morning. So, being the good tidy boys me and Thor is, we cleaned the place, and now it looks better than ever! Even washed my clothes!(we don't have washing machines for our disposal, so a bucket of hot water and soap have to suffice).
Training and working out has been difficult in this environment, and I feel I have to step it up soon!
Now I am tired of writing, so I guess I will just sit here for 3 more hours trying to upload pictures to the blog, with the almost non-existing internet.
Remember to enjoy what you got, even if you are currently in frozen Norway!;-)
Peace out!

One very sunburned BWOY!
Nice boat-trip! (best footage on film)

Soooooo.... Apparently this is going to be a once every week update blog. The countdown has started and so my first week in Cabo Frio is spent and gone! The internet on the hotel Porto Principe isn't exactly up to norwegian standard, and there is no internet in the rooms.
And that's my gentle transition into describing my living arrangements. The apartments are divided into two, shared by four young, active and crazy individuals (except my roommate which is a 35 year old solid guy named Thor, so what I am saying he is active, just not young and stupid like us!). The guys I am living with meets my roommate standard, and so far it has been a delight living with them!
If i have to describe my stay so far with few words it has to be: Burned, interesting, educational, social and above all fun!
It is a really nice bunch of people, and they are not difficult to get to know. The second day of the stay we went on a 7 hour boat trip, on which i uttered the somewhat "cocky" statement "I never get sun-burned, I just get tanned".... This attitude resulted a week later in a severe lack of skin on both my face and shoulder/chest area, and some rather humiliating from my so called new made "friends"....
We have also had a welcome party, where we got to spectate a capoiera "show/training" in which i actually participated, and got som "streetcreds" from. It was VERY fun, and I am planing on joining the capoiera class!
The food is cheap, drinks are cheap, air is hot and life is good!!
Breath and fight for more friends!

Off to Brasil: part 1 19.02.13 09:40

And then I´m off. On my way to the small "continent" formally known as Brazil. Right now I am on my way to Bergen on the "fast window" (Norenglish pun, it is an Express boat) "Njord" from Askvoll. There I will meet up with my beautiful girlfriend Kaja, and I am going to be with her until my departure tomorrow evening at 21:00 to Oslo.
I have already said the necessary goodbyes to my family (except my sister in Bergen), although I am not that sure the half-unconscious goodbye from my little sister counts (she apparently consider her beauty sleep to be more important than me leaving the country for 3 an a half months).
Needless to say the more painful goodbye is yet to come...
Live well, prosper and stay tuned!

20.02.13

Okey so this is the day... Today I am leaving Norway to travel to another continent! I have been trying to enjoy the last hours with Kaja as good as possible. Saying goodbye wasn't exactly easy, but now it is done and I am heading my head towards new places and ecperiences. So now I am focusing on making my night on Gardemoen as comfortable as possible. See ya soon folks.. Update when arriving in Brazil!
